A Lighthouse for a Stormy Full Moon
The October 6th Full Moon in Aries is not only this year’s Harvest Moon it’s also a Super Moon. This beautiful full moon rises, illuminating a sky charged with big energy. With Jupiter amplifying everything, Chiron exposing our tender places, and Eris stirring the pot, the collective field can feel intense. It’s a time when old patterns can flare and the collective field can feel stormy.
All full moons tend to bring a time when emotions peak and clarity arrives. We typically experience a culmination of some kind. Allow the emotions that arise, as they contain wisdom and guidance. Free what is ready to be released and celebrate what has blossomed.
If this moon has you feeling unsteady, remember within every storm there is a still point — a place of anchored light that cannot be shaken. In that spirit, I’m sharing one of my favorite practices, The Lighthouse, to help you root, rise, and shine your own steady beam as this Full Moon tide moves through. A lighthouse doesn’t swim into the storm to save the boats; it stands firm on its rock, radiating light. Let yourself radiate light into the world without jumping into the fray.
The Lighthouse Ritual
A 3-Minute Practice for Stormy Times
When the world feels turbulent, imagine yourself as a lighthouse — steady, luminous, rooted to the earth yet reaching into the sky. This practice helps you anchor your own light so you can shine for yourself and others.
1. Root
Close your eyes and feel your feet on the ground. Imagine roots descending from your soles deep into the earth, steadying you. Inhale slowly, drawing up strength from the ground.
2. Rise
With your next breath, sense a column of light moving up through your spine to the crown of your head. Picture it extending skyward, connecting you to the stars. Exhale slowly, feeling tall and unshakable.
3. Shine
Visualize a soft beam of light radiating from your heart outward in all directions — not as effort, but as a natural glow. Inhale: “I anchor.” Exhale: “I shine.” Repeat for a few breaths until you feel calm and luminous.
Closing:
Open your eyes gently. You are the lighthouse — steady in the storm, a beacon for your own becoming and a blessing to those around you.
May this Full Moon find you rooted like the earth, open like the sky, and shining like a lighthouse — steady, luminous, and unshakable in your becoming.
