New Moon: Planting Seeds for a More Enchanted Future
New Moon in Taurus — May 16, 2026
This Taurus New Moon arrives quietly. Like rich soil receiving seeds beneath the surface long before anything visible appears above ground. Earthy, yes, but poised at the threshold of a massive shift.
At 25° Taurus, this New Moon invites us to pause and notice what has fundamentally changed within us over the past several years. As Uranus has completed its long journey through Taurus (2018–2026), many of us have experienced profound shifts in our relationship to security, stability, resources, values, the body, the Earth, and even our sense of identity itself.
For some, these years brought unexpected disruptions. For others, liberating awakenings. For most, a bit of both as we personally identified what experiences nourished our life force, felt life-giving, and real. This New Moon feels like a threshold moment — a chance to recognize how much has already changed and consciously choose what you wish to cultivate moving forward.
And perhaps most importantly: What can you say, “Yes, please…more of this please” to?
This New Moon is conjunct Mercury in Taurus, inviting grounded reflection and honest conversations about what truly matters. Yet Mercury is also reaching toward liberating Uranus and Sedna holding hands in Gemini. Sedna speaks of primordial memory, deep instinct, and ancient betrayal transformed into a larger belonging. The human nervous system itself is remembering it belongs to a larger field of intelligence.
Also at this New Moon, Venus in Gemini and Mercury in Taurus are in mutual reception — each planet moving through the sign ruled by the other, in a lovely nod of support. Our cosmic family is creating an atmosphere of possibility, curiosity, and living intelligence. We may begin sensing that the ways we think, communicate, learn, connect, and perceive reality itself are changing rapidly. Yet this New Moon reminds us not to lose ourselves in mental overstimulation or collective noise. There will be lovely moments of re-enchantment but they might be amidst collective destabilization through the remainder of the year.
So, let us heed the message of this Taurus New Moon: There is medicine in simple presence right now.
Stay embodied.
Touch the Earth.
Hug a tree.
Plant something sustainable.
Pet the dog.
Cuddle with the cat.
Listen to the wisdom of your body.
Savor beauty.
Eat slowly.
Breathe deeply.
Remember that your humanity is sacred.
At the same time, Mars conjunct Chiron in Aries suggests that many of us have spent months clearing away old identities, patterns, fears, obligations, and wounds that no longer support who we are becoming.
This clearing has not always been graceful. But it has been necessary.
Mars and Chiron together ask: What life force is returning now that space has been made as the old falls away? What passion wants to reignite? This is not merely about healing old wounds. It is about reclaiming the right to embody your own I AM.
And beneath all of this, a larger collective pattern continues unfolding.
Neptune currently sits at the midpoint of the long-building Uranus-Pluto trine, a dynamic of flowing progress in a cycle Uranus and Pluto initiated in the 60s with the “love movement.” This trine is forming a rare and powerful field of transformation that becomes exact in July as Jupiter in Leo joins the configuration. Neptune at the midpoint becomes the field tone through which the Uranus–Pluto awakening expresses itself.
Without Neptune, Uranus trine Pluto could become sheer acceleration: innovation, disruption, reinvention, and chaotic power restructuring. But Neptune at the midpoint asks: What if awakening is not merely technological or political but imaginal, spiritual, symbolic, and compassionate?
Neptune’s energy softens without weakening. It spiritualizes without bypassing. It dissolves rigid identity structures while Uranus and Pluto rewire them.
And by July, when Jupiter enters the rectangle from Leo, the whole thing ignites with heart-fire, creativity, visibility, and courageous self-expression. It feels like the return of meaningful imagination—not fantasy as escape, but imagination as participatory reality.
We are entering a profound collective threshold. Yes, there may be shocking revelations, rapid changes, and moments that challenge old assumptions about reality itself just as was initiated in the 60s. Yet beneath the uncertainty, something else is also re-awakening:
a longing for meaning, for authenticity, for imagination, for soul, and for living connection.
This is not simply a technological or political shift. It is a spiritually symbolic one. We are remembering that life is not merely machinery to survive, but a living mystery to participate in. I can almost hear the cosmos laughing: the age of dry mechanistic nihilism is losing market share!
And perhaps that is the deeper invitation of this Taurus New Moon: to remain grounded enough to welcome the future without losing touch with the sacredness of being alive.
The world does not need more fear right now.
It needs more presence.
More tenderness.
More authenticity.
More beauty.
More laughter.
More embodied humanity.
As this New Moon plants its seeds in the fertile Earth, may you honor how far you’ve come. May you trust what has been cleared away. And may you consciously choose what you are now ready to nourish with your energy, attention, voice, and love.
Because collectively there’s such temptation right now toward disembodiment:
doom-scrolling, AI abstraction, fear loops, identity warfare, escape fantasies, spiritual bypassing, and nervous-system overload.
This New Moon does not want dissociated transcendence. It wants bare feet, good food,
touch, laughter, gardens, real conversations, nervous system regulation, and
loving participation in reality.
This Taurus New Moon supports embodied participation in awakening. There are areas of your life where life force is returning. Welcome it! And whatever comes your way that feels good, say, “Thank you! More please!”
As this life force is returning, there may be strange physical or emotional sensations that surprise you. For example, you may feel surprising waves of: anger, clarity, grief, creative urgency, boundary-setting, and desire.
These may be signs that your psyche is reclaiming energy once bound up in suppression, accommodation, fragmentation, or hypervigilance.
When such sensations arrive and keep you company, ask them: “What is trying to delight me?” And be assured, something alive is returning.
Honestly, this New Moon feels like a threshold between eras: the completion of a long restructuring of value and survival and the beginning of a radically new conversation about mind, meaning, communication, intelligence, community, and reality itself.
Yes, remembering aliveness. And remembering that language can imprison reality or re-enchant it.
Celebrate the sacredness of being alive during this rite of passage all of us are taking together: participating in evolution consciously. Jupiter is delighted to announce that: “Possibilities remain gloriously alive!” while Saturn offers, “Yes. But kindly remember to hydrate and pay your car registration. The advanced course will challenge you to remain embodied while responding to the cosmic orchestra.”
New Moons are always a time for planting seeds for the future you desire to experience. Therefore, liberally plant the seeds of your joys. As Luna initiates her new growth cycle, remember that there's no order of difficulty for the Divine Spark that you are. Look with wonder upon the world and celebrate that you are alive, having an adventure through time and space and radiating your light into our world.
The Cosmic Wink from this new moon? The future is not arriving from somewhere else. It is growing through us now.
