May 1st Full Moon: Lightening the Load
There’s a particular kind of Full Moon that doesn’t shout. It hums. The May 1st Full Moon in Scorpio at 11° is one of those—low, steady, and unmistakably deep. The kind that asks for honesty.
And perhaps that’s why, even in the midst of full days and full plates, something in you might feel quietly uneasy. Maybe a gentle stirring or a subtle pressure.
Not to take on more.
But to release more.
With the Taurus–Scorpio polarity illuminated, we’re invited to notice what we’re holding onto and gently ask why.
Not everything we carry is meant to continue. Some things are simply taking up space. It might be old stories our thoughts are still reliving. Maybe it’s outgrown roles. How about invisible obligations? It could even be emotional residues we’ve grown so accustomed to, we forgot they weren’t ours to keep.
Since this Full Moon is forming a square to Pluto, the intensity may be undeniable. Not chaotic, but clarifying. Like a deep current pulling truth to the surface.
You may feel it as restlessness. Or anxiety without a clear story. Or a quiet knowing that something wants to shift.
Let it. There’s no need to force transformation here. This is not about dramatic endings. It’s about lightening the load.
Much to my delight as I sat down to compose this blog, the planetary archetypes offered their own simple, luminous guidance:
Venus leaned in softly: Don’t take anything personally.
Uranus, with that electric glint, reminds us: You are the sculptor of your energy field.
Gregarious Jupiter offered: Step out of limitation. Try on your inner possibilitarian. Possibility is not a promise of outcome, it’s a state of participation!
And Mercury, ever the gentle disruptor, proposed: Untether. Be curious. Let go of who you think you are. Step off the spinning wheel of seeking. Go within.
That reminded me of something quietly profound I heard Dr. David Clements share recently:
Identity puts a dent between two ‘I’s’ and leaves you with a ‘Y’.
And maybe that’s the invitation of this Scorpio Full Moon. Let go of everything you think you are and be curious about what you might discover. Just loosen the edges a bit to release what no longer reflects the truth of your becoming.
With Mercury in late Aries meeting Chiron and Eris, old stories about who you are—and who you are not—may be rising to be seen. Let them rise. And let them go.
Meanwhile, Uranus, in rare company with the Goddess of Metamorphosis, Sedna in Gemini, hints at something far more expansive: A quiet, quantum shift. Not frantic. But available.
So if you feel something stirring this week, you don’t need to chase it. Simply ask:
What is ready to be released?
What is no longer mine to carry?
What might open if I set this down?
And then just soften your grip a little. That’s enough.
And just like that, the scorpion walks by you instead of stinging. No rush. No pressure. Just presence and the quiet magic of making space.
